Sofia Noelle is a Buffalo native who began her dance career at David De Marie Dance Studio at age 3, spending 9 out of her 14 years training as a company team member. Sofia was trained in a wide variety of styles, including tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, modern, contemporary, lyrical, musical theater, and acrobatics. She has also been trained in body conditioning, Pilates and yoga. While dancing at David De Marie, she studied under professionals such as Rebecca Guile, Tracy Navarro, Neil Haskell, Angel Mammoliti, Leonard Castilone, Tyler Malone, Tiger Martinez, Allain Lupien, Julie LaMancuso, Vlad Novitski, and Jon Lehrer. Sofia also trained at the American Academy of Ballet, Classical Ballet Studio and the Configuration School of Ballet. At 14, she attended the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts as a dance major, with concentrations in ballet and modern dance.
As a competitive dancer, most of Sofia’s time was dedicated to attending competitions, conventions and intensives; traveling between Los Angeles, New York City, and Canada for additional training at notorious studios such as Abby Lee Dance Company, Dance Inc, Millennium Dance Complex, EDGE Performing Arts Center, and Broadway Dance Center. During this time, she trained with notorious choreographers and dancers, including Talia Favia, Shannon Mather, Jeff Wong, Andrew Winghart, Joey Dowling, and Victor Smalley. Sofia has participated in various pre-professional companies, spending 4 years as a member of the Infinity Dance Project and becoming a member of LIV Travel Dance Team at 15. Additionally, she has played various roles in The Nutcracker over the course of many years, as well as performed in the 2011 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She has been assisting dance classes since age 10 and began teaching her own classes at 18. Although Sofia had to step away from dance for a few years following two hip surgeries and a shoulder surgery, she is excited to be back in an environment that feels like home. Sofia hopes to instill her love and passion for this beautiful art form into all of her students.
